Cruise Ship Terminal

The Lake District has long lured visitors from across all four corners of the globe, drawn by its stunning natural beauty.

A new cruise ship berth is proposed to establish Barrow as the international sea gateway to The Lake District.

Cruise ships already call at Barrow but do so sporadically. A permanent terminal will help make Barrow a more attractive place for cruise ship operators planning their global itineraries.

It will also create a significant opportunity to broaden the horizons of tourists wanting to visit The Lake District by boat. Both Furness and West Cumbria boast stunning scenery and coastline as well as an ever growing number of quality tourism attractions and top class leisure facilities.
